General Summary:

Utilize functional/technical expertise, as well as Sopheon Values, to develop, implement, manage and continuously improve programs related to recruitment, employee engagement, retention, and performance management across the global organization. Provide insights, benchmarks and recommendations regarding compensation.

Provide hands on HR support for US benefits, policy execution, payroll, incentive and salary/vacation management. First point of contact for US staff seeking assistance and information in these areas.

Build partnership with business leaders and nurture a strong organization and culture.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Employee Relations: Respond to employee concerns and provide employee relations guidance to managers in order to ensure effective application of company policies/procedures and company culture and minimize legal risks, complaints, charges and turnover. Assist managers in investigating root causes of employee relations issues and develop strategies to address/reduce them. Serve as a subject matter expert for US federal and state regulations and ensure accurate and appropriate strategies and tactics are in place. Demonstrate balanced advocacy for employees and the business.

Benefit/Payroll support: Provide Benefits admin enrolment and change support management, including annual renewals. Support 401K and HSA employee requests and changes. Perform payroll processing to meet pay period cut-offs and enter any pay changes into the system. Understand the total rewards competitiveness by role and market. Guide managers on messaging for pay for rewards and performance reviews.

Talent Management: Implement and manage organizational programs relative to employee development, retention, performance management, onboarding, career development, and succession planning. Work with business leaders to ensure a talent pipeline that will successfully enable current strategies and future growth. Responsible for Employee onboarding process including preparation and review of new hire packets and paperwork with new hires, liaison with relevant finance, IT and departmental colleagues, training joiners on policies, procedures and systems; exit process including preparation of termination paperwork, exit questionnaire and related formalities.

Talent Acquisition: Partner with hiring managers to evaluate talent needs and ensure acceptable staffing levels (current and future). Create and maintain a strategy to constantly recruit the best talent by managing Sopheon website and LinkedIn recruitment presence and process, and partnering with recruiters, to ensure a consistent, high quality talent pipeline. Assist hiring managers with the effective use of selection processes, selection criteria and onboarding tools. Create and post job openings, coordinate interviews/new hire testing with recruiters/staff and administer tests. Create ongoing strategic partnerships with University programs to create a constant recruiting pipe.

Communication: Understand stakeholder perspectives and partner with organizational leaders to ensure proactive, effective communication strategies and processes to address issues or situations that arise.

Culture: Assess alignment and support for company mission, values and strategies; provide recommendations to managers on how to respond to emerging workplace trends and or how to address employee needs or issues with balance for both legal compliance and culture. Assist in implementation of employee engagement surveys, feedback sessions and action planning. Actively personify and advocate for the company's culture, brand and values.

Process Improvement: Identify, advocate for and implement HR best practices across all areas of the business; simplify or reduce non-value added processes. Help business functions identify and resolve opportunities for increased efficiency or decreased beuracracy. Enable and ensure compliance in regulated practices pertinent to department.

Miscellaneous: Facilities/General

  • Order supplies for Denver facility

  • Coordination of local office events

  • Assistance with visitor local travel requirements, manage travel agent relationship

  • Process outgoing mail, courier, and Federal Express packages

Key Performance Indicators of success: (KPIs)

  • Timely execution of payroll, benefits and other regular processes

  • Employee Retention, overall and new hire

  • On-boarding effectiveness

  • Employee development, bench strength/talent readiness; internal promotion rates

  • Staff satisfaction (NPS)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to think critically and in a proactive manner

  • Excellent organizational skills, good judgment and a strong sense of urgency

  • Ability to work independently and take a project from concept to completion

  • Ability to work positively under pressure and with tight deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively while working on multiple projects

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office 2007 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong writing, proofing, oral communication and computer skills

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience as in Human Resources, preferably as an HR Generalist

Education

Bachelor's degree in a related area (Business, IR, HR, Communications, etc.). S/PHR certification preferred.
