Twice each year, a quest occurs: art collectors worldwide journey to Sotheby's Hong Kong five-day sale series in pursuit of the world's finest rarities ranging from Chinese ceramics and paintings. modern and contemporary art to jewellery. watches and wine. This April, find among other showstoppers a blue-and-white lobed Xuande bowl that is one of the greatest examples of early Ming porcelain in private hands; important contemporary western art being ottered in the Evening Sale far the first time: and the first single-owner auction of works by the 'Father of Asian Photography' Long Chin-San. Curiosity chasers will travel in time with wonders spanning millions of years, from a massive skull of a late Jurassic allasaurus to a gigantic 8th-century head of a Bodhisattva.
