St. Modwen is pressing ahead with more development at Great Western Business Park in Worcester, having submitted a planning application for employment units spanning almost 15,000 sq ft, on behalf of training company Hereford and Worcestershire Group Training Association.

Hereford and Worcestershire Group Training Association, which provides bespoke competence training and workplace qualifications for the manufacturing, processing, finance, legal and service sectors, signed an agreement with St. Modwen last week for the new units measuring 10,333 sq ft and 4,224 sq ft. Should planning consent be granted, the new facility will create up to 20 jobs - though this number is expected to grow rapidly.

This latest planning application comes just weeks after the developer secured planning consent for 65,000 sq ft of speculatively-built units ranging from 3,000 to 31,000 sq ft, representing the third and final phase of development at Great Western Business Park. Construction work is also well underway on a 13,600 sq ft bespoke warehouse for Travis Perkins.

Jonathan Green, senior development surveyor at St. Modwen, said: 'This latest planning application - together with our recent consent for 65,000 sq ft of new development - reflects the continuing strength of the commercial landscape in Worcester. It also highlights a growing need to answer the shortage of this type of development, as we face a situation where there simply isn't the accommodation for such businesses to grow.

'Great Western Business Park has always proved popular, and this latest agreement with Hereford ad Worcestershire Group Training Association adds yet another dimension to the variety of tenants here. With the benefit of planning consent, the new units could be complete by January 2017.'

A number of national and local businesses have already taken advantage of the Business Park's prime location, including Travis Perkins' sister company, Benchmarx, car parts and accessories distributor Euro Car Parts, additive manufacturers Materials Solutions, vehicle and wearable technology distributor Nemesis GB, automotive parts distributor Andrew Page, self-storage company Storage King and Altaras International, providers of precision components.

Situated off the Tolladine Road, Great Western Business Park is located half a mile from Worcester City Centre and offers easy access to Worcester city centre and J6 & 7 of the M5 corridor, which provides connections to M42 motorway. A secure managed estate, the development benefits from 24 hour CCTV monitoring and designated parking.
