PROTEAN™ OCEAN BASED FUNCTIONAL TESTING DEPLOYMENTS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED VIDEO RELEASE
Stonehenge Metals Limited (ASX:SHE) (Stonehenge or the Company) is pleased to provide a video filmed on one of the ocean based functional testing days.
On 11 August 2015 the Company completed its functional wet test of a single demonstration ProteanTM wave energy converter (WEC) in approximately 2.5 metres of water, at Coogee Beach, Western Australia. The program was designed to test the assembly of the device including: the beach launching equipment, ProteanTM mooring, counterweights and the core buoy and energy conversion mechanisms.
Upon being successfully deployed in the ocean, the Protean™ WEC operated in line with expectations and powered nine electrical loads within a lit display box. Click here to view footage.

NEXT STEPSThe successful completion of the initial functional ocean testing enables the Company to proceed to the next stage of its commercialisation strategy with confidence. The current focus is to secure a deployment site with the potential for the 30 buoy demonstration farm to be the first part of a larger integrated power project. In so doing the Company will continue to advance its accelerated commercialisation strategy in parallel with the deployment of the 30 Protean™ WEC devices currently under fabrication. Active discussions with suitable parties have commenced with site selection and approvals expected in the coming weeks.
