Superconductor Technologies Inc. Announces Exercise of Over-Allotment Option

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 5, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Superconductor Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:SCON) ("STI"), a world leader in the development and production of high temperature superconducting (HTS) materials and associated technologies, today announced the exercise in full of the over-allotment option granted to the underwriters by Superconductor Technologies with respect to the purchase of 500,000 shares of common stock at a public offering price of $0.30 per share. The over-allotment option is being exercised in connection with Superconductor Technologies' previously announced underwritten public offering of 3,333,334 shares of common stock. As a result of the exercise of the over-allotment option, the total gross proceeds to Superconductor Technologies from the offering will be approximately $1,150,000, before deducting the underwriting discount and other estimated offering expenses.
