Sydney Airport Managing Director and CEO Kerrie Mather said, "In 2017 to date, we have seen outstanding passenger growth at Sydney Airport, and November has been no exception. November international and total passenger growth were a very strong 7.1% and 4.5% respectively on the prior corresponding period (pcp). Domestic passengers also delivered a solid growth in November of 3.1%, compared with the pcp.

"The international result was driven by a strong 4.6% seat capacity increase and 1.7 percentage point increase in load factors. The domestic result also saw a strong performance from both seat capacity and load factors.

"Sydney's top five foreign growth nationalities - Chinese, Indian, South Korean, American and German - all contributed strong growth, with a combined double-digit growth in visitation compared to November 2017.

"Sydney Airport is again on the way to record passenger numbers in 2017. This continued strong growth is fantastic for the NSW economy, tourism and the airport. We continue to invest in our terminals, roads and airfield to ensure we are providing our passengers and customers an enhanced airport experience.

"Sydney Airport is delighted to welcome the announcement of Hainan Airlines' new Haikou-Sydney route commencing on 31 January twice weekly on a 292-seat A330-300 aircraft. The service will create

  • • On 1 December, Sydney Airport welcomedChina Airlines' new A350-900 double daily product from Taipei. The new product is expected to add approximately 200,000 seats annually and drive an estimated additional $48 million in annual visitor expenditure for NSW.

  • • On 14 December, Sydney Airport welcomed the commencement of Qantas' new direct Sydney-Osaka service, marking a new route for the airport. The three-weekly service will operate on an Airbus A330 aircraft, adding 92,000 seats annually.
