Tokyo, Japan, July 9, 2015 --- Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd. , the Teijin Group's fiber-product converting company, announced today that it would support Oxfam Trailwalker Tohoku 2015, an international fundraising event to be held on July 11 and 12 in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.

The event will be organized by Oxfam Japan, a nonprofit registered in Japan and affiliated with Oxfam, the international confederation of 17 organizations that is mobilizing the power of people against the injustices of poverty around the world.

Oxfam Trailwalker is a worldwide endurance-walking event. Participants join in teams of four, and the total number of participants is anticipated to be about 640 this year. The event has been held annually in Japan since 2007 near Mt. Fuji, but this year it will take place at Mt. Adatara in Fukushima Prefecture. In addition to its anti-poverty mission, the event will also support ongoing regional reconstruction efforts following the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011.

As a sponsor, Teijin Frontier will provide event participants, volunteers and staff with 1,400 T-shirts made of DELTAPEAK CR, an all-season material that significantly reduces discomfort from sweating during sports. DELTAPEAK CR is a special knitted fabric with a three-layer structure featuring water-repellent polyester fiber on the side facing the skin. In addition to offering sweat absorption and quick drying, it prevents the cold, sticky feeling of cooled sweat for increased comfort. In addition to sportswear and outdoor wear, it also enhances the comfort of business wear.

Teijin Frontier has undertaken other initiatives to post-earthquake reconstruction in northeast Japan, including a joint effort with Otsuma Women's University to provide high-function T-shirts to children in the region.
