Tokyo, Japan, Sep 20, 2016--- Teijin Limited announced today that it will participate in the The 6th China International Automotive Interiors and Exteriors Exhibition which will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) in Shanghai from September 25 to 27.

This is one of China's largest automotive trade shows, hosting 165 participating companies and 30,000 visitors last year. Teijin will be the first exhibitor to focus on the concept of eco-friendly motoring through its planned display of lightweight and energy-efficient models.

The Teijin Group booth (2D098) will showcase a wide variety of solutions designed to enhance safety, as well as attractive lightweight models featuring high performance materials incorporating advanced molding and coating technologies, resulting in reduced VOC emissions and improved external appearance.

Products to be exhibited will include:

Panlite®
Panlite, a 200 times stronger than glass while keeping the weight half, is a shape-retaining and highly transparent polycarbonate resin used in place of glass. Teijin's own hard-coating technology is deployed in its manufacture, helping to prevent scratching and penetration of ultraviolet rays. Partition windows and other accessories will be on display.

‐Multilon®
Armrests and A/C wind outlets made with Multilon, a Polycarbonate/ABS alloy providing the heat and impact resistance and moldability required for automobile interiors, will be on display.

reftel®
Reftelis a highly-durable, transparent and heat-insulating window film which helps save energy through the blocking of ultraviolet and heat rays. Its multi-layered structure comprises an ultra-thin film attached to PET film by creating multilayer film utilizing sputter deposition method, is the technology to form delicate and highly uniform film, and helps improve the overall environment inside the vehicle. This film ensures 25 to 50 percent thermal reflectivity with the transparency maintained 60 to 80 percent.

Special sheets
The Teijin stand will exhibit a newly developed antiglare and antireflective sheet, and a decorative sheet with a metallic-looking surface, both produced using our special micromachining technology.

Value-added high-performance composite materials are one of the four business pillars under in 'Transformation and Growth Strategies' area of Teijin's current medium-term business plan. Teijin looks forward to expanding its business in Asian and emerging countries, particularly in China, and to developing new customers through its participation in this exhibition.
