Martin Škop, the current chief technology officer in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, is moving to the same position in Telefónica Deutschland with effect from March 1. He will replace Andrea Folgueiras, who has been appointed Telefónica's chief technology officer in Brazil.

As the managing director, 43-years-old Martin Škop will be responsible for all of Telefónica'snetwork technologies in Germany. He will be reporting directly to general director René Schuster. Martin Škop has worked for Telefónica Group for more than six years. Since 2007, he has been the chief technology officer in Slovakia and since 2009 also in the Czech Republic. Mr. Škop had previously worked in the segment of data network development in Eurotel Praha and Nextel.

He brings great knowledge in fixed network and mobile technology as well as in the development of network services," said René Schuster, Telefónica Deutschland's general director and added: "He will support us to drive our ambitious goals, especially with regard to extending our mobile data network with LTE."
