Madrid, 05 March 2014. Telefónica announced today that from 7 March it will launch in Spain the most complete and varied television offering, along with its Movistar Fusión service bundle and a myriad of new pioneering technical features to complement the new proposal.

The new offering will include the whole Motorcycle Racing World Championship, which Movistar TV will offer this year shared with Mediaset and exclusively from 2015, and the Formula 1 World Championship, this year and next at the same time as on free to air but with the advantage that it will not include any ad breaks, and exclusively from 2016.

In order to offer the best viewing experience for the Motorcycle Racing and Formula 1 World Championships, Telefónica will be accompanied by the best motorsports professionals and experts, led by Ernest Riveras. Alex Crivillé, Alberto Puig, Juan Martínez, Izaskun Ruiz and Riveras himself will form the Motorcycle Racing World Championship team. Jaime Alguersuari, Joan Viladelprat, Josep Lluís Merlós, Miguel Ángel Cueto and Maria Serrat will be in charge of directing the Formula 1 World Championship broadcasts for Movistar TV.

New television bundles

In the new Movistar Fusión Televisión, 'Para todos' will be the option for customers looking for a wide and different offering compared to free to air, with content for everyone from the best channels of each type. 'Fútbol' will be the alternative for those who have no doubt that they just want to watch football from La Liga, the Champions League, Europa League or the Premier League. 'Energía' will be the channel bundle for mass consumers of large sporting events like tennis, Formula 1 and the Motorcycle Racing World Championship.

So, for example, customers covered by the fibre optic network can get Movistar Fusión TV on 7 March for 87 euros a month, including VAT. This price includes landline calls, unlimited mobile calls, 1 GB of mobile data, 100 MB download speed and 10 MB upload speed over fixed broadband, TV Mini and multi-screen, and the option to choose one of the aforementioned bundles: 'Para todos', 'Fútbol' or 'Energía'.

Users covered by the fibre optic network who want the entire television offering - the three television bundles, TV Mini and all of the internet services and landline and mobile calls - will pay 107 euros a month, including VAT, for Movistar Fusión TV Total.

For customers covered by ADSL, Movistar Fusión TV and Movistar Fusión TV Total will cost 75 and 95 euros, respectively.

The three bundles -`Para Todos, 'Energía' and 'Fútbol'- can also be acquired separately from the Movistar Fusión TV offering for 20 euros a month, including VAT.

From mid-April, Telefónica will launch other Movistar Fusión TV options starting at 45 euros with different channel offerings.

Television like you've never seen it before

In addition to the content offering, Telefónica will also offer a new range of pioneering features in the pay TV market so that customers can watch television in a way that they have never watched it before. Viewers will decide what to watch and when and without needing to change the decoder they already have at home.

To the option to watch the programmes on any device -television, smartphone, PC or tablet- Movistar adds a personal online recorder with 350 hours of storage, including HD recordings. This recorder will shortly also include automatic recording of the last seven days of all of the programmes and contents to which the customer has subscribed.

With multi-signal broadcasting, the grand prix races can be watched in a way they have never been watched before in Spain, as the viewer and Movistar TV customer can choose from six different high definition signals so as not to miss a single detail of each race.

Since Telefónica Spain launched its convergent and integral offering, Movistar Fusión, in October 2012, the service has evolved its services to become the leading offering on the Spanish market with more than three million users and more than eleven million accesses. Simplicity, transparency, savings, flat rates for landline calls, unlimited mobile calls or 4G browsing are just some of the values integrated in the most complete convergent offering on the market.
