VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Apr 9, 2014) - TELUS (TSX:T)(NYSE:TU) today launched TELUS Transformation Office to help large organizations drive increased employee engagement, cultural transformation and improved financial performance.

Created in response to requests from external partners and customers, TELUS Transformation Office will deploy learning and technology experts to consult and train businesses in five key areas: leadership and culture, digital readiness and connected learning, career and talent services, onboarding and induction, and flexible work styles. The training is completed through a series of half-day workshops or more intensive bespoke consulting sessions, customized based on the client's specific needs. TELUS business clients will be able to add this unique consulting option to their existing suite of TELUS services, including telecommunications, collaboration, IT and security solutions.

"In today's competitive business environment, a strong organizational culture can be a company's most powerful and sustainable source of competitive advantage because it drives employee engagement, customer satisfaction and financial results," said Dan Pontefract, Chief Envisioner of TELUS Transformation Office. "While there are a number of organizations that offer organizational consulting, we not only offer firsthand experience, having successfully progressed through our own transformation, but we also combine leadership consulting with technology to drive very compelling businesses results."

Between 2007 and 2014, TELUS increased employee engagement from 53 per cent to 83 per cent - the highest score worldwide for a company of its size and workforce mix according to global HR organization Aon Hewitt. Additionally, TELUS is the global leader amongst all telecom service providers with a total shareholder return of 286 per cent between early 2000 and March 2014, outpacing the number two incumbent by 110 percentage points. The company's customers first focus has resulted in TELUS and Koodo both receiving best-in-class service ratings from Canadians on a national basis. As reported by Brand Finance, the TELUS brand is now valued at $4.3 billion and Leger Marketing has ranked the TELUS brand #1 in Canada for the combination of awareness and likeability.

After several business clients approached TELUS to learn more about its transformation, the Transformation Office ran three pilot programs with Loblaw Companies Limited, The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) and Cameco before officially launching.

"TELUS Transformation Office brought a wealth of expertise on all aspects of organizational transformation to support employee engagement and empowerment," said Jenny O'Donnell, Director, Corporate Learning & Development at LCBO. "Not only is the team extremely open in sharing the TELUS journey, they took the time to deeply understand our organization and developed a plan that plays to the strengths of our unique culture."
