PARTNERS CONFERENCE & EXPO, Nashville, Tenn. - Teradata Corp. (NYSE: TDC), the big data analytics and marketing applications company, last night honored 18 global customers and partners with Teradata EPIC Awards. Given for outstanding achievement in the use of data analytics to create business value and their contributions to business and technology, the awards ceremony was held at the PARTNERS Conference and Expo. New this year was an award given to one individual for excellence in innovation and leadership.

"The companies we honor here tonight understand that the more they use their data, the more value they deliver to their customers and to their own bottom lines. These winners have distinguished themselves as front runners in the race to become data-driven.  They recognize that vibrant, relevant and trusted data is the new business imperative," said Bob Fair, executive vice president and chief marketing and information officer, Teradata.

Each winner received a custom-designed Teradata EPIC Awards crystal trophy. In addition, finalists were also named for each customer award category. The judging panel evaluated submissions received from around the world and represented a cross-section of industries as recognized innovators, chief information officers, educators and technology journalists.

By category, the winners are as follows.

Individual Excellence Award

Category: Innovation and Leadership - honoring a chief information officer, chief marketing officer, vice president or director of technology or business who led the integration of business and IT and the application of technology to improve his or her company's business performance.

Category: Analytical Excellence - improving business decision-making by increasing the accuracy or speed of business insights, and by delivering measurable improvements in organizational performance and/or productivity.
