Recipients of the college scholarships were selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, financial need and demonstrated leadership potential. Women of Teradata members raised funds and made personal donations to fund the scholarships for female students pursuing careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Scholarship applicants were all graduating high school women in a community where Teradata has an office. The school scholarships are awarded for the 2014-2015 academic year.

"These young women have already started preparing for their careers through their involvement in our FIRST Robotics teams. We expect and wish them every success as they pursue their college educations in engineering disciplines," said Women of Teradata President Kathy Edmons.

The 2014 Winners of the Women of Teradata Scholarships are:

Christina and Grace Cruickshank, twin sisters and seniors at Escondido Charter High School, in California. They served as co-captains of the FIRST Robotics team, 2839 The Daedalus Project. The team placed third in the FIRST Robotics Competition at the Inland Empire Regional Tournament earlier this year. Christina and Grace plan to study engineering at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. They are the daughters of Colin and Kathy Cruickshank.

Clarissa Xue, a Poway, California, High School senior. Xue is a member of the school's Robotics FIRST Team, 1622 Spyder, plays the violin and was chosen as 'Man of the Match' for outstanding play in a rugby tournament this past season. She plans to attend the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York where she will major in mechanical engineering and is the daughter of Avalon Xue and Shirley Magazzu.
