ARLINGTON, Va., Nov. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CEB (CEB) (NYSE: CEB), the leading member-based advisory company, served as the presenting sponsor for the fourth annual LUNGevity Breathe Deep DC walk for lung cancer on Nov. 4 in Washington, DC. Five hundred CEB staff, alumni and friends converged on the National Mall to participate in the largest area event to fight for those impacted by the disease and to contribute to the more than $1.1 million raised since the event's inception.

Earlier this year, CEB strengthened its commitment to cancer research when it became a 2012 National Sponsor of the LUNGevity Foundation. CEB's significant financial and in-kind support in the fight against this deadly disease is representative of the company's Spirit of Generosity - a CEB core value. CEB's core values serve as the foundation of the firm, centered on generous exchange and a global culture of service, to bring positive social change and enrich communities where its employees and business partners live and work.

"Our partnership with the LUNGevity Foundation goes well beyond making an annual financial grant. LUNGevity is an organization that CEB supports in many ways, and the most valuable contribution we make is through the time our people devote to this cause," said Melody Jones, chief administrative officer, CEB. "Our staff members are committed to helping build a much-needed community of support for those impacted by lung cancer."

LUNGevity is one of six recipients of CEB's Community Investment Grants, an important component of the company's Spirit of Generosity and global philanthropic reach. For more than 25 years, CEB and its staff have dedicated resources to promoting community building in the public sector through its CEB in the Community (CITC) program.

Jerry Sorkin, an executive director at CEB, served as chair of the Breathe Deep DC event. "As a lung cancer survivor myself, I am deeply proud of CEB's support of cancer research and the leadership we demonstrate through our volunteer efforts. I look forward to the continued commitment and future contributions CEB makes to benefit LUNGevity Foundation and the fight against lung cancer."
