The Shaw Group Inc. (NYSE: SHAW) today announced that Shaw Mid States Pipe Fabricators Inc. has been approved for participation in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Star Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).

OSHA recognizes work sites that provide exemplary occupational safety and health and serve as models for others. After a thorough site evaluation in February 2012, OSHA determined that all elements of Shaw Mid States' safety and health management program met the high expectations of VPP Star participants.

The Mid States facility is the first facility in its Standard Industrial Classification to achieve this OSHA recognition.

Shaw Mid States is a 150,000-square-foot pipe fabrication facility in El Dorado, Ark. The facility specializes in fabricating complex piping systems using carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome titanium, aluminum and other metals.
