Travelport (NYSE:TVPT), a leading Travel Commerce Platform providing distribution, technology, payment and other solutions for the $7 trillion global travel and tourism industry, has today announced details of a new hotel extranet capability it has developed which has been designed to empower independent hotels to market themselves to Travelport's global travel agency audience and make booking independent hotels even easier through Travelport's Travel Commerce Platform.

Specifically, the new technology allows independent hotels to join the newly created independent hotel extranet, which, in turn, is fully integrated into Travelport's Travel Commerce Platform. As a result of this seamless integration into Travelport's main platform, independent hotels are able to easily promote their property information, facilities, inventory, best available and corporate rates to Travelport's 67,000 connected travel agencies worldwide.

The additional independent hotel content, which is expected to grow steadily in volume over the coming months, will complement Travelport's existing offering of over 600,000 hotel properties which are already available to search, sell and book via its Travel Commerce Platform, and offer the largest inventory of hotel properties on any B2B travel platform in the industry. By integrating directly into the Travel Commerce Platform, the independent hotels will appear in all Travelport points-of-sale, and will also be available by Travelport's Universal API, and fully bookable through a travel agent's existing workflow. Hotels signing up to the Travelport Hotel Extranet will have the unique ability of distributing both corporate and public hotel rates.

The addition of the Travelport Hotel Extranet to Travelport's global hotel offering supports the Company's ongoing strategy to redefine hotel booking and distribution for travel agencies, corporations, travel management companies and hotels. In particular, it builds on the acquisition of Hotelzon last year, who are specialists in the provision of independent hotel content to corporates, and through whom the technology has been developed.
