NOTICE OF INTENT: The U.S. Army Special Operations Command intends to negotiate a sole-source Firm-Fixed-Price modification to contract H92239-14-C-0007, which was originally awarded to United Rentals, Inc., 100 First Stamford PL STE 700, Stamford, CT 06902-9200. The contract was originally awarded for the lease of seven pieces of heavy equipment for the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School (USAJFKSWCS). The proposed contract modification is for the exercise of the Option to Extend Services IAW FAR 52.217.8. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis pursuant to the authority of FAR 13.5 as only one responsible source and no other will satisfy the agency requirements for the above stated requirement.
Thorough market research was conducted which resulted in the determination that this time, no other sources possess the capability to meet the Government's short term requirement by 29 September 2017 and be fully operational. The Justification & Approval was approved on 21 September 2017 and will be posted 14 days after award.
This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation, but merely notification of the Government's intent to extend the current with United Rentals, Inc., 100 First Stamford PL STE 700, Stamford, CT 06902-9200.
The Government's determination not to compete this proposed contract action is based on agency market research. Responses to this notice may be collected for future requirements however, due to immediate mission needs, will not be considered for the purposes of this acquisition.
