Vectren encourages income-eligible customers to sign up for energy assistance
Indianapolis, Ind. - As the winter heating season approaches, Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana (Vectren) encourages its income-eligible customers to take action before the brunt of winter heating season hits by applying for federal/state energy assistance and home weatherization services through their local community action agency. By signing up for the Energy Assistance Program (EAP), gas customers in Indiana receive an automatic 15 to 32 percent discount on their Vectren bill from December to May through the Universal Service Program (USP).
"Local community action agencies, who administer EAP, are now scheduling appointments," said Mike Roeder, president of Vectren Energy Delivery-North. "Customers should contact these agencies to begin applying early for heating assistance, and income-eligible homeowners should inquire about the no cost home weatherization services."
To qualify for EAP and the USP discount, customers must fall within 150% of the federal poverty income guidelines for 2014-2015:
Household Number | Annual Income |
1 | $17,505 |
2 | $23,585 |
3 | $29,685 |
4 | $35,775 |
5 | $41,865 |
6 | $47,955 |
7 | $54,045 |
