Jamestown, Ind. - As a result of interest by town residents, Vectren Energy Delivery (Vectren) has announced the utility will install new pipelines and facilities and soon be providing natural gas service in Jamestown, Ind.
"We are happy to offer the option of natural gas service to Jamestown residents and appreciate the partnership with town council leadership that enabled this project to move forward" said Mike Roeder, president of Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana - North. "More than 70 percent of all homes in the Midwest are heated with natural gas, and that number will continue to grow due to the very favorable long-term outlook for low, stable natural gas prices."

Approximate Timeline of Activities

• July 9-31, 2015: Sewer locates

• July 27, 2015: Construction begins (starting on Elm Street, north of railroad tracks)

• July-Aug. 2015: Construction and restoration

• Sept. 1, 2015: Construction ends

• Sept. 15, 2015: Service installations begin

Customers also have the opportunity to take advantage of Vectren's Piping Assistance Program, which provides a $350 incentive for qualifying residential and commercial customers converting to natural gas. This program is intended to help cover the expenses associated with any costs the customer incurs to have a qualified contractor install indoor natural gas piping and/or retrofit existing appliances for natural gas use.
