Vectren Corporation One Vectren Square Evansville, IN 47708

Vectren website ranks 2nd in Midwest; 5th in North America

Evansville, Ind. - Vectren Corporation's (NYSE: VVC) website, www.vectren.com, has been ranked as the fifth best utility web site in the nation by E Source, a leading research and information services organization that provides member organizations with unbiased, independent analysis of retail energy markets, services and technologies. E Source assessed 101 U.S. and Canadian utility websites based on survey data compiled between
April and July 2013. Vectren's ranking improved from 13th in the nation in E Source's 2011 survey.
Thirty different web and mobile features were taken into account in the bi-annual review including aspects of the site's framework, the quality of its online customer service and communication tools and the ease at which customers can access information about pricing and making a payment. Website look and feel was especially important in this year's review. Vectren's website was completely redesigned in 2013 and went live in June. Highlights of the redesign include improved navigation, reduced text and functionality built for tablets and touchscreen, which allowed Vectren to excel in this category. Also debuted in 2013, was Vectren's own mobile application, along with an enhanced mobile site.
"Our e-service team works hard to continually increase the functionality and usability of Vectren.com in an effort to improve customer service and enhance the online experience for all customers, regardless of their familiarity with the internet," said Vectren's Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Technology and Customer Service Doug Petitt. "Through our site, customers can perform a number of self-service options, perform energy audits and access energy efficiency information 24 hours a day to quickly and easily manage their energy bills."
On average each month, Vectren.com welcomes more than 350,000 visitors and nearly 120,000 online payments. The number of customers accessing Vectren's online information and tools has steadily grown each year.
This new study, the sixth such website review E Source has compiled, is the largest, most detailed benchmark of electric and gas websites available. The 2013 findings show that many utilities treat online customer care as a primary issue and can strongly influence customer satisfaction. The first study was completed in 2002.
