Ventas, Inc. (NYSE: VTR) ("Ventas" or the "Company") today announced that Sheli Z. Rosenberg will retire from its Board of Directors and not seek re-election when her current term expires on May 15, 2014.

Ms. Rosenberg has served on the Board of Directors of the Company since 2001. She has served on numerous Board Committees, most recently as Chair of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and as a member of the Audit and Compliance Committee.

"Sheli has served as a distinguished member of our Board for the past 13 years and has been instrumental in guiding the Company through its tremendous growth and diversification," Ventas Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Debra A.
