Veolia's results for the first quarter of 2017 are satisfactory, in line with the objectives set out in the Group's strategic plan. Growth in turnover, which had picked up in the last quarter of 2016, recorded a significant acceleration.

  • Revenue was €6,270 million, with growth of 4.5% compared to the first quarter of 2016. The increase in revenue was particularly satisfactory in Europe (up 7.2%), with remarkable increases in the United Kingdom (up 6.1%), Central Europe (up 9%) and Germany (up 11.1%). In the rest of the world, revenue rose sharply (up 11.8%), particularly in Asia (up 18%) and Latin America (up 27%).
  • EBITDA increased by 0.9% to reach €863 million. This is due in particular to the restart of revenue growth and cost reductions of €63 million, in line with the objectives set for 2017.
  • Current EBIT was €431 million, up 6.1%.
  • Current net income - Group share was €155 million, an increase of 3.7%.

These satisfactory results confirm the Group's outlook for the full year.
