INCENTIVES DRIVE BUYERS TO AUGUSTUS HERVEY BAY

THE combination of two generous government incentives has galvanised home buying activity at Queensland developer Villa World's Augustus community in Hervey Bay.

Totalling $27,000, the two incentives have brought homes in the estate within the reach of first home buyers with house-and-land packages priced from $299,000.

The enticement comprises the State Government's $15,000 First Home Owner Grant and a $12,000 cashback from the Building Better Regional Cities' Program funded by the Fraser Coast Regional Council and Federal Government.

While the $15,000 is restricted to first-time buyers, the $12,000 incentive is aimed at all eligible individuals, families and retirees looking to build a new home in Hervey Bay.

Some buyers are also eligible to tap into Villa World's zero deposit incentive, negating the need to raise a deposit for a home loan.

Villa World investment sales manager Craig Truslove said the incentives had driven close to 90 sales at Augustus to a range of buyers, including first home owners eligible for both grants.

"Approximately 30 per cent of purchasers at Augustus are first home buyers who have jumped at the opportunity to take advantage of government incentives and Villa World's zero deposit offer on new homes," Mr Truslove said.

"The zero deposit incentive has allowed us to grab the attention of entry-level buyers and with the recent drop in interest rates, purchasing is even more affordable.

"We expect to see an increase in interest from people in metropolitan areas because pricing is so attractive compared to places like the Gold Coast, Brisbane and even Maryborough and Bundaberg.

"The local construction, retail, tourism and hospitality industries are performing well which will offer employment opportunities to people moving here."

Augustus Hervey Bay boasts a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes set amid landscaped parks and adjacent to nine hectares of native bushland.

Several stages of Augustus have sold out and the current releases include The Parkway which offers homes overlooking the estate's expansive community parklands.

Augustus is just 3km from the Hervey Bay CBD and is close to schools, local shopping and Hervey Bay Golf and Country Club.

Established in 1986, Villa World is Queensland's oldest ASX-listed developer and one of Australia's largest housing providers.

Villa World creates value through a simple philosophy of quality craftsmanship, design innovation and enduring relationships. Today, more than 35,000 Australians call a Villa World address home.

The estate's display homes are open Friday to Tuesday from 10am until 5pm.
