VWR's dedication to its associates and their wellness provided 93% of the global associate population access to wellness programs. Planet

Through retrofit projects, training and behavioral changes, VWR had another record breaking year in 2015. VWR reported the lowest energy use and greenhouse gas emissions since tracking began six years ago. Since 2010, the Company reduced energy use per associate by 17.7%, far exceeding its 5% reduction goal, and absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 5.4% across the organization. Landfill diversion rates also increased from 85% in 2014 to 87% in 2015 through expansion of recycling programs and conversion to waste-to-energy disposal methods.

Performance

VWR's innovative product recycling solutions expanded in 2015 with the addition of a safety glasses and goggles recycling program. This initiative complements VWR's existing pipet tip box and garment recycling programs available to customers, which diverted a combined 41,425 pounds of waste from the landfill in 2015 alone.
