EAST BRUNSWICK and MANVILLE, N.J., Oct, 21, 2014 - New jobs for 380 in New Jersey are now starting up,  thanks to opening events at two Walmart locations.
A new Walmart is opening in East Brunswick on Wednesday, Oct. 22, following a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. The new store is conveniently located at 290 State Route 18 and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Meanwhile, also on Oct. 22, an expanded Walmart is re-opening in Manville, following a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. The larger store is conveniently located at 100 N. Main St. and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

These stores will provide East Brunswick and Manville residents with low prices on a broad assortment of merchandise and offer Walmart's free Site to Store program, enabling customers to choose from nearly a million additional online items that can be ordered on Walmart.com and picked up at the local stores for free, often as quickly as the same day.

The 380 new jobs are in addition to 760 others Walmart has already brought to New Jersey this year.

The East Brunswick store employs approximately 300 full- and part-time associates. Store manager Tom Casazza began his Walmart career in 2001 as an hourly customer service manager.

"This new Walmart Supercenter will provide a new shopping option for the East Brunswick community," said Casazza. "We have everything you need for fall activities and Halloween."

The Manville store employs approximately 300 full- and part-time associates. The store has 23 associates that have been with the store since its original grand opening 1998; including store manager John Capista who began his Walmart career at the store as an hourly cashier.

"We are excited to have expanded our store to better serve our customers," said Capista. "We invite all of our customers to come out and see the changes to the store on grand-opening day."

Affordable Groceries to Meet All Your Needs
The new and expanded stores offer fresh produce and a full line of groceries from all the leading brand names, including organic and natural selections.

In addition to groceries, the store features quality, value-priced general merchandise, including electronics and seasonal items. In addition, customers can shop a broader assortment of items online at Walmart.com and then pay for these purchases with cash in all of Walmart U.S. stores and Walmart Neighborhood Markets, including the East Brunswick and Manville stores.

The pharmacy offers a full range of products and services. Pharmacy team members can answer product and prescription questions and customers can ask about health and wellness solutions. East Brunswick and Manville residents can easily transfer prescriptions and order refills on the go with the Walmart mobile app for iPhone and Android.

Community Giving
The East Brunswick grand-opening celebration includes presentations of $8,000 in grants from Walmart to local community groups, including Adlersgate Crisis Room, East Brunswick Rescue Squad, East Brunswick Community Housing Corporation and East Brunswick Community Food Bank.

The grand-opening celebration in Manville includes presentations of $8,500 in grants from Walmart and the Walmart Foundation to local community groups. Organizations receiving grants include Robert Morris School, Manville Volunteer Fire Co. #1, Manville Recreation, Manville First aid and Rescue Squad, Manville Office of Emergency Management, Manville Police Department and the Manville Public Library.

In addition to the grants given as part of the grand opening, the new and expanded stores will further Walmart's pledge to fight hunger in America. As part of Walmart's and the Walmart Foundation's $2 billion commitment to fight hunger through 2015, Walmart stores in New Jersey donated approximately two million pounds of food, in fiscal year 2014, or the equivalent of 1.7 million meals. Additionally, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation gave more than $5.4 million in fiscal year 2014 in New Jersey alone.
