AGREEMENT TO ACQUIRE PACIFIC BRANDS WORKWEAR - UPDATE
Wesfarmers Limited has received confirmation from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) that it will not oppose the proposed acquisition of the Workwear Group of Pacific Brands Limited (ASX:PBG).
Clearance from the ACCC was a condition precedent for the acquisition.
Wesfarmers Managing Director Richard Goyder welcomed the decision by the ACCC. "Finalisation of this review has cleared the way for the completion of the transaction which is
expected at the beginning of next month," Mr Goyder said.
Wesfarmers announced on 26 August 2014 that Wesfarmers Industrial and Safety had entered into an agreement to acquire the Workwear Group for $180 million.
