ROCKVILLE, Md. (November 5, 2014) - Whole Foods Market Mid-Atlantic region announced today a lease for a new store in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The approximately 40,000 square foot store will be located in the Shoppes at Belmont. No target opening date has been set.

The location, on the southeast corner of Fruitville Pike and Route 30, will be a unique, mixed-use development that will combine retail and residential amenities. The location will also include bike and walking trails connecting visitors to the heart of Lancaster.

"The people in and around Lancaster have been asking for a Whole Foods Market for some time now - and we're excited to make it a reality," said Scott Allshouse, Whole Foods Market Mid-Atlantic regional president. "While we have deep roots in Pennsylvania, this new store will allow that commitment to grow even stronger, with both customers and local suppliers alike. We look forward to celebrating the community's unique culture and flavors - while showing what it means to be 'America's Healthiest Grocery Store'."

Whole Foods Market is a leading natural and organic foods grocer with a commitment to transparency and maintaining the highest quality standards in the industry. Whole Foods Market's Quality Standards for food prohibit artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives or hydrogenated fats. This new location will allow more opportunities to build win-win partnerships with the local suppliers in the area - a core value for the company.

"Whole Foods Market stores combine the ideas of a plentiful farmer's market, knowledgeable butcher and fishmonger and made-from-scratch bakery all in one place," said Allshouse. "And with our wide range of items, from our 365 Everyday Value line to chef-prepared entrees to world-class cheeses, there's something for everyone."
