20% DISCOUNT ON ALL WIZZ FLIGHTS TO AND FROM BULGARIA

Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe and Bulgaria's leading carrier, today operates its first commercial flight from Sofia with one of its brand new, state-of-the-art Airbus A321 aircraft.

Wizz Air celebrates this remarkable milestone with 20% off* all flights to and from Bulgaria. This massive one-day sale means even greater savings for Bulgarian customers and the visitors of the country. Seats can be booked from just BGN 9.99 ** until midnight tonight at wizzair.com.

The first Airbus A321 joined the WIZZ fleet in November 2015 and today the airline already has 14 of this aircraft type in its ever growing, young fleet. Wizz Air's first Sofia based A321 aircraft will initially fly the popular Birmingham, Bologna, Malta, Milan Bergamo and Madrid routes. Underlining its commitment to Bulgaria, WIZZ will add another two A321 aircraft to its Sofia fleet in March creating more capacity on other services as well.

With 230 seats on board, the Airbus A321 is the most efficient single-aisle passenger aircraft. The aircraft's superior operating economics mean that WIZZ offers more seats to more destinations at WIZZ's lowest fares at the same time as delivering the lowest emissions and noise footprint in its class. In addition to the refreshed livery, Wizz Air's A321 aircraft feature new interior colors, a lighter cabin ambiance, soft leather seats and more cabin seating choices.

WIZZ will take 30 of the current version A321 aircraft through 2018 and then begin accepting delivery of the A321neo, featuring advanced engine technology, in 2019. The continued investment in new technology reflects Wizz Air's commitment to become the most efficient airline in Europe and this, in turn, will help ensure that Wizz Air remains Central and Eastern Europe's largest low-cost airline.

Wizz Air's first Sofia flight took off in 2005 and since then, the airline has become the market leader carrier in Bulgaria. In 2016 Wizz Air carried over 1.7 million passengers on its low-fare Bulgarian routes, supporting more than 1300*** local jobs in associated industries. WIZZ has currently seven aircraft based in Sofia and the airline will base another aircraft in Varna in July. Establishing base operations at Varna Airport, WIZZ will create 36 additional direct jobs, increasing the number of its customer-oriented Bulgarian employees to over 300.

Wizz Air announced this week a new daily service from Sofia to Frankfurt, Germany's largest airport. The Bulgarian WIZZ network now consists of 44 low-fare routes, including a domestic service between Sofia and Varna.

Gabor Vasarhelyi, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said: 'We are thrilled to celebrate the first commercial flight of our first Sofia based Airbus A321 aircraft, the most efficient single-aisle passenger aircraft in the sky. The addition of this state-of-the-art model to our Sofia fleet allows us to allocate more capacity on the most popular WIZZ routes, while offering the lowest possible fares. As the leading airline in Bulgaria, we stay committed to Bulgarian customers and their visitors and keep on bringing opportunities through affordable travel to the country. Our friendly Bulgarian crew looks forward to welcoming you on board our state-of-the-art Airbus A321!'
