Wolters Kluwer Health, a leading global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, announced today that ThedaCare has selected its ProVation® Medical software for cardiology procedure documentation and coding in its cardiac catheterization labs at Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark Medical Center.

ProVation MD Cardiology is the only dedicated procedure documentation and coding solution that improves clinical communication and efficiency within and outside the cath lab. Backed by our extensive library of medical content and driven by our unparalleled DocuDiagram feature, the system allows cardiologists to document even the most complex procedures quickly and completely. By automatically applying the appropriate reimbursement codes and disseminating critical procedural information, ProVation MD Cardiology maximizes reimbursement, reduces costs and streamlines quality reporting while improving clinical communication and care coordination.

Headquartered in Appleton, Wis., ThedaCare is a community health system consisting of five hospitals--Appleton Medical Center, New London Family Medical Center, Riverside Medical Center, Shawano Medical Center, Theda Clark Medical Center--and 22 physician locations in nine counties. With approximately 6,100 employees, ThedaCare is the third largest healthcare employer in Wisconsin. Both Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark Medical Center are eight-time recipients of the National Research Corporation's Consumer Choice Hospital Award based on quality ratings from area consumers.

"ThedaCare consistently ranks at the top for the quality of care and positive health outcomes," said Mike Haldane, Vice President and General Manager, Clinical Documentation, Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical Solutions. "We are pleased it has selected ProVation MD for cardiology to streamline documentation and coding in its cardiac cath labs."
