Worldline [Euronext: WLN], European leader in the payments and transactional services industry, has unveiled its new interactive ticketing machine at the opening of the Oxford Parkway station in Oxfordshire.

The new ticketing solution, known as Worldline Interactive Ticketing, was developed in partnership with Chiltern Railways to deliver an enhanced customer experience to users. The machine was unveiled at the recent launch of Chiltern Railways groundbreaking new rail link between Oxford Parkway and London Marylebone. The event, which was attended by Prime Minister David Cameron, marks the first major rail link between London and another British city in more than 100 years.

The Worldline Interactive Ticketing solution has a number of features aimed at maximising the customer experience. These new features include a large 42' touchscreen display, which complies with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), to enhance the user experience, allowing the customer to gain access to live local departure information and network maps to help them obtain all the relevant information they need to plan their journey.

Worldline's solution also has the capability to host configurable information, advertising and promotional material and can accommodate upgrades and enhancements that future technological advancements bring such as contactless payment and barcode scanning.

Christophe Duquenne managing director of Merchant Services and Terminals Global Business Line said: 'Worldline's Digital Self Service mission is to deliver products with an enhanced user experience at their heart. Worldline Interactive Ticketing represents a step change regarding our ticket vending machine offering into the UK rail industry and what we have delivered here is just the first step into this exciting frontier.

User interaction is dramatically improved, while the provision of relevant information is enriched with functionality such as live local departure information and network maps. This marks the first time this solution has been featured in stations in the UK and we look forward to the product's future rollout.'

Thomas Ableman, Commercial Director for Chiltern Railways, said: 'We had a vision to offer an enhanced retail experience for customers when opening our new station, Oxford Parkway. Working in partnership with Worldline, we have delivered an industry retailing first. Customers use an intuitive touch screen interface that seamlessly links information and ticket purchase to provide a much improved customer experience.'
