VEON Ltd. said Tuesday that Mikhail Fridman has resigned from its board as a director.
The telecommunications services company, founded in Russia and based in Amsterdam, said Mr. Fridman's resignation was effective from Monday.
Mr. Fridman owns retailer Distribuidora Internacional de Alimentacion S.A. (DIA).

Presently, he holds the position of Chairman for LetterOne Holdings SA and Chairman-Supervisory Board for Alfa Group. He is also Member of Public Chamber of Russian Federation and Member-Management Board at The Russian Union of Industrialists & Entrepreneurs and on the board of 8 other companies.
