International stocks trading in New York closed higher on Wednesday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts rose 0.9% to 152.27. The European index increased 0.5% to 150.01, the Asian index jumped 1.7% to 171.14, the Latin American index gained 0.7% to 193.25 and the emerging markets index climbed 1.6% to 284.13.

ADRs of Vallourec closed up 6.2% at $2.41 after the French steel tube maker reported a first-quarter profit, an increase in first-quarter revenue and reiterated its 2023 outlook.

Commerzbank's ADRs closed down 3% to $10.37 after the German bank raised its 2023 net interest income expectations to a level that fell short of consensus estimates.

ADRs of LG Display closed up 4.9% at $6.02 on growing hopes for a profit turnaround next year after a report said it may supply organic light-emitting diode TV panels to tech company Samsung Electronics.
