OTTAWA, April 19 (Reuters) - The Canadian government's April 16 budget does not at first glance do much to change the fiscal track from the one set by a fall economic statement last November, Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem said on Friday.

Macklem, speaking to reporters from an IMF meeting in Washington, also reiterated the central bank's message that it needed to see more signs that inflation is coming down sustainably before it can consider cutting rates.
