Communications services companies fell amid doubts about deal prospects.

Paramount Global shares slid amid skepticism about its merger talks with rival Hollywood studio Skydance.

Disney said it planned to crack down on password sharing for its streaming services, starting with a few countries in June before implementing a wider roll out in September.

Shares of Trump Media & Technology, parent company of the Truth Social app, were on pace for a new closing low since its merger with a shell company last week, even as the price to borrow shares of the company for short-selling purposes skyrocketed to unlikely heights.

BlackBerry's quarterly loss narrowed as the former smart-phone maker moved closer to splitting its internet-of-things and cybersecurity businesses.
