NEW YORK, April 16 (Reuters) - El Salvador said on Tuesday it accepted offers for just under $487 million in its offer to repurchase debt maturing in 2025, 2027 and 2029.

The new outstanding totals for the bonds are $99.56 million for the 2025 maturity, $633.07 million for the 2027, and $529.53 million on the 2029, the government said.

The total outstanding in the three issues will be reduced to $1.26 billion from $1.75 billion, El Salvador said in a statement.

The invitation expired as scheduled at 5:00 p.m. New York time (2200 UTC) on Monday. (Reporting by Rodrigo Campos Editing by Chris Reese)
