Earnings season. Foot Locker, Astec Industries, Boralex, Omeros and Onex are among companies reporting earnings.

Tesla at a loss. While presenting its results for 2018, Tesla told investors that it would not be profitable in the first quarter. This contrasts with the company’s statement last month that it was expecting a "very small" net profit in the first quarter. During the presentation, the company also unveiled a $35,000 version of its Model 3 sedan.

Tata denies any plans to partially sell Jaguar Land Rover. India's Tata Motors denied on Friday press reports that it is considering its options for a troubled Jaguar Land Rover. "Rumors that Tata Motors is considering selling its stake in JLR are not true," an Indian group spokesman told Reuters.

MUFG buys an aviation business. Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group is alledgedly about to spend $6.3 billion to acquire an aircraft financing business from a subsidiary of Germany's DZ Bank.

Shell faces prosecution over Nigeria license. The Dutch prosecutor's office said on Friday that it was preparing to charge the Anglo-Dutch oil giant Shell with criminal offences in a case of alleged corruption in 2011 over the rights to exploit an oil field in Nigeria.

Wirecard targeted by authorities. The financial watchdog in Germany is assessing whether there was a potential market manipulation in Wirecard shares. The investigation will not only look at actions by short sellers but also possible misconduct by the payments company, according to Bloomberg.
