unusual word of Hawkins to life in London

'Stranger Things: The First Shadow' is set in 1959,

two decades before the period in the hit TV show

"It's really sort of an origin story of Henry Creel, who is our main villain in season four, and it's about when he arrived in Hawkins in the late 1950s, and we have got a young Joyce and a young Hopper and a young Bob Newby, who are in high school. And so it's sort of how those worlds collided in unexpected ways. So it's a new time period but I think it sheds a lot of light on both the backstory of all of our characters but also starts to give some hints as to where we are headed in the final season of the show."

Matt and Ross Duffer say the TV show's

final season will be filmed in 2024

"It's a huge season, it's massive. You know there are a lot of expectations but you take it a day at a time. It's going to be challenging but super rewarding I think but also bittersweet because it's the last time we are going to be working on the show with these actors."

ROSS DUFFER: "So hopefully fans really like it and we have been building towards what is ultimately the ending of the show for, you know, we have been talking about it for years because we want it to end in a way that just feels right, and feels like it was always destined to end that way."
