(Alliance News) - Zinc Media Group PLC on Friday said it was "delighted" to have some of its content nominated in the current affairs category at this year's BAFTA TV awards.

The London-based television and content creation group received the nomination for its show 'Putin vs The West' created by the company's Brook Lapping label for the BBC.

Additionally, Zinc's collaboration with Hardcash Productions has led to a BAFTA nomination for 'Russell Brand: In Plain Sight (Dispatches)' which aired on Channel 4.

Zinc Chief Executive Officer Mark Browning said: "We are delighted to be nominated for these prestigious awards which demonstrates the considerable progress made by all of our labels that deliver thought provoking and entertaining content across the whole group."

The BAFTA TV awards will be held on May 12.

Shares in Zinc Media closed up 1.3% to 78.49 pence in London on Friday.
