"Of course, new massacres have been committed against the Palestinian people, the defenseless civilians in this governorate that gathers most Gazans, whose population in Rafah amounts to approximately 1.5 million or more than 1.5 million. What happened last night was the targeting of 10 homes, in them were civilians and residents. These civilians are defenseless, and have become either martyred, lost or wounded."

:: Israel told Palestinians to evacuate parts of Rafah and head for an expanded 'humanitarian area'

:: The move appears to be preparation for a long-threatened assault

Israel appears to be targeting Hamas holdouts in the southern Gaza Strip city where more than a million war-displaced people have been sheltering.

Witnesses said the areas in and around Rafah to which Israel wants to move people are already crowded and there is almost no room for more tents to be added.
