Foxconn Technology Group has gradually resumed normal production after shutting down some Taiwan manufacturing lines for inspection following a major earthquake there.

A strong earthquake hit eastern Taiwan on Wednesday, triggering tsunami alerts for northern Taiwan and some areas in Japan's Okinawa.

The Taiwan-based electronics maker said Wednesday that the earthquake had only a very slight operational and financial impact on the company.

There was no damage to manufacturing equipment, it said.
