ADEKA Group introduces internal carbon pricing system
ADEKA CORPORATION began trial introduction of internal carbon pricing ("ICP") in FY2023. We plan to introduce this system in earnest during the next mid-term management plan, which will start in April 2024 after trial operation.
ICP is a system that is used internally to price carbon independently and to promote low- carbon investiment and measures. In the Carbon Neutral Roadmap, ADEKA Group aims to reduce GHG emissions by 46% by 2030 (compared to 2013) and 2050 by achieving carbon neutral emissions. To achieve this goal, we have formulated and are implementing a carbon neutral promotion strategy. The focus is on creating value from a long-term perspective through GHG reductions and visualizing GHG emissions that can be utilized. The introduction of this ICP on a trial basis is part of this effort, and we will further advance our efforts toward carbon neutrality.
ADEKA Group will strive to maximize both social and economic value by not only reducing GHG emissions associated with its business activities, but also by demonstrating innovation through the technological capabilities it has cultivated to date and contributing to GHG reductions with completely new technologies and products.
