AVT Comes to DRUPA as the World's #1 Provider of Automatic Inspection Systems for Label & Packaging Segments.

Debuts at DRUPA Include New HD Inspection for Labels & Packaging
Applications, and Next-generation Cloud-based Automation Solutions, among other innovations

Hod-Hasharon, Israel - AVT, the world leader in print inspection, print process control and quality assurance, will introduce an extensive roster of new solutions at DRUPA, May 31-June 10 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Located at Hall 9, Stand C60, and with more than 15 systems across its partners' stands, AVT enters the show as the world's top automatic inspection and quality management solutions provider in the global labeling and packaging industries; currently, approximately 50% of all high-end inspection and quality assurance systems in these two sectors are AVT platforms.

At DRUPA, AVT will introduce a set of next-generation solutions and technologies, including new digital press inspection & control solutions such as the new Helios D inspection system, designed specifically for digital label presses; new inline color management solutions; a new cloud-based quality standards and automation platform; inspection solutions for label and corrugated boards, driven by AVT's alliance with Erhard and Leimer (E+L); and web inspection platforms such as the new Turbo HD line for label and packaging applications.

Leader in Digital Inspection: Introducing Helios D and Apollo 30k

AVT draws distinction as the unrivaled leader in advanced inspection and digital press control solutions. The company offers a variety of solutions tailored for short run print jobs and digital workflow, 100% inspection and workflow for label and packaging presses, and close loop quality engine press control for digital inkjet, as explained below.

At DRUPA, AVT will premiere the Helios D digital press inspection, an automatic, 100% print inspection solution designed to meet the specific needs of digital printing in the labels and narrow web markets. Based on AVT's proven, well-established Helios product line, Helios D supports all stages of digital production workflow, including the identification of specific defects like missing nozzles, ink dripping spots, and color changes as soon as they occur. The result is reduced waste, enhanced production and comprehensive process monitoring.

Helios D allows operators to take corrective measures at the very inception of a defect, before waste becomes widespread, including continuous tracking of the inkjet print heads to provide a preventive maintenance scheduler tool.

During DRUPA AVT will present four 100% Inspection systems on HP Indigo presses. These include the debut of Apollo 30K, which was designed for the HP Indigo 30000 Folding Carton press, the Helios S Turbo on the new HP 8000 narrow web press and Apollo 20K for the HP Indigo 20000 flexible packaging press.
AVT will also showcase its new Jet-IQ, the only proven closed loop solution for digital inkjet presses. Installed on digital presses from Heidelberg, Landa and other prominent vendors, Jet-IQ is a quality engine that works in synergy with press controllers to maintain exemplary print quality.

Wide web Packaging Inspection solutions

Among the portfolio of AVT systems presented at DRUPA is the new Argus Turbo 100% Inspection platform for packaging applications that incorporates a new Offline setup feature, allowing Argus customers to centrally create job quality standards and quickly set up their systems according to these parameters. With the new AVT Workflow Link for packaging applications, customers can now control quality downstream from the production process, detecting any defects on press and eliminating them from the rolls at any finishing station.

UV and Varnish support capabilities also are incorporated into the new Argus Turbo, as well as into another AVT DRUPA debut, the new Jupiter, particularly deft at detecting low-contrast defects such as hazing and scumming.

High-Definition Inspection

DRUPA also will see the premiere of AVT's Turbo HD series, offering, for the first time, high definition resolution inspection along and across the web at full press and rewinder speeds. Helios Turbo HD, the world's most advanced inspection system for label & narrow web applications that originates from AVT's market-proven Helios platform (nearly 2000 installations worldwide). AVT also will offer a technology demonstration of Helios' multi head architecture, meeting the emerging needs of printers to inspect Extended Content Label applications and dual sided web printing across multiple stations.

Also showcased is the new 100% inspection Turbo HD wide web technology, which introduces unique, first-ever capabilities to support HD quality at very high speeds along and across very wide webs.

Proven Inline Color Measurement Solutions

AVT also will introduce its SpectraLab II, a new generation of in-line spectral measurement for nearly any application, including transparent flexible, paper, cartons, etc. SpectraLab II offers new compact design, advanced color workflow management and improved inline-to-offline measurement correlation. Based on the proven SpectraLab, with more than 30 packaging and label customers worldwide, and AVT's Clarios, which is used on over 700 in-line color systems throughout the worldwide offset printing landscape, AVT's color management prowess offers real-time, in-line spectral measurements like LAB, DeltaE and dot gain.

Cloud-based Workflow and Automation Platform

A big premiere is AVT's new iCenter Platform, a next-generation cloud-based solution for quality control automation and production performance insights. With the iCenter platform, printers can now offer brand owners around the globe consistent product quality, as well as production reports showcasing these heightened quality standards.

Alliance with Erhardt+Leimer (E+L)

DRUPA is an opportunity for AVT to showcase its recent strategic alliance with leading process equipment provider Erhardt+Leimer (E+L). The partnership combines the two companies' technologies to offer a comprehensive array of end-to-end solutions for packaging & label converters, from measurement and viewing to inspection and quality control solutions.

At DRUPA, the companies will present SMARTSCAN - a new joint solution for print gross defect detection. SMARTSCAN will be presented with live demonstrations at both companies' stands. On top, E+L will be presenting the NYSCAN Corr, a 100% inspection solution for corrugated boards printing.

The companies also have announced that they are co-developing a next-generation solution for this market based on the combined benefits of AVT's Titan & E+L's NYSCAN Corr inspection systems.

Jaron Lotan, AVT President & CEO said: 'DRUPA provides a prominent stage for AVT to premiere a host of valuable new print quality solutions, from digital inspection and press controls to cloud-based workflow automation and color measurement solutions, each aimed at better serving our customers' evolving quality control needs. Notably, we are particularly proud to have emerged as the premiere inspection solutions choice for digital printers, as shown by our alliances with industry leaders in this sector such as HP Indigo, Gallus-Heidleberg, Landa, and EFI.'
