Air Mauritius plans to launch four direct flights connecting Chengdu and Mauritius during China's 2015 Lunar New Year holiday. This will become the first direct passenger air route to connect west China and Africa and Mauritius, expects it to become a regular one in 2015. Chengdu thus will become the fourth one in China to launch a direct passenger air route to Mauritius after Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Air China announced that recently that it would launch a direct route connecting Chengdu and Colombo, capital of Sri Lanka on February 10, 2015. Chengdu Airport has launched 241 routes, including 78 international ones and 187 domestic ones.
