Alaska Communications Systems Group, Inc. has named William (Bill) H. Bishop president and chief executive officer and to the Board of Directors of the company. Bishop has served as Alaska Communications' interim CEO since June 2019. He joined the company in 2004 and has served in several leadership roles, including senior vice president of customer and revenue management and chief operations officer.

Bishop joined Alaska Communications in 2004 and has served in several leadership roles in consumer and business sales and operations, including director of retail operations, director of business and wholesale, vice president of business and wholesale, senior vice president of customer and revenue management and chief operations officer. He brings more than 25 years of telecom and business leadership experience to this role, including positions at AT&T, McCaw Communications, and a federal government logistics contracting company. As President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Bishop will be responsible for the general oversight and management of the company, including overall business strategy, all operating units, operating plans, financial performance, and such business ventures as the company may acquire or participate in.
