Altona Rare Earths starts trading on London Main Market

Altona Rare Earths PLC - developing Monte Muambe magnet rare earths project in north west Mozambique - Starts trading on London Main Market on Friday after raising GBP2.0 million from a placing and subscription of 40 million new shares at 5 pence each. Cedric Simonet is promoted to chief executive officer from chief operating officer as of Friday. "The company is now focusing its attention on the short-term deliverables for Monte Muambe; namely a maiden JORC mineral resource estimate and scoping study, the increase of its holding in the project to 51%, the start of the pre-feasibility study and the application for a mining concession, which will further advance and de-risk the project," Simonet says.

Altona Rare Earths Plc is a United Kingdom-based resource exploration and development company. The Companyâs principal activity is that of being a rare earths exploration, development and extraction company focusing on opportunities in Africa. The Companyâs flagship project is the Monte Muambe REE project, located in Mozambique. The Monte Muambe Rare Earths Project is a carbonatite hosted REE exploration project. Monte Muambe is an approximately four kilometers (km) diameter circular carbonatite intrusion and is located in Tete Province, Northwestern Mozambique. The project is held under prospecting license 7573L. The tenement has a surface area of 39.39 square Kilometers (km2), within which there are no human settlements. The Company's subsidiaries include Altona Rare Earths (Uganda) Limited, Altona Rare Earths (Tanzania) Limited, Altona Rare Earths Mauritius Ltd and Monte Muambe Mining Lda.
