Arab National Bank partnered with Canon Middle East to offset its carbon emissions from printing. The bank will utilize Canon's program to identify areas to avoid emissions and to invest in environmental programs to counterbalance carbon emissions, according to a press release.

Some of these initiatives include wind energy programs in India and Indonesia, combatting deforestation in Uganda and planting trees in Germany and South America.

Through the program, Canon will provide print and scan audits to identify areas to cut emissions and improve efficiency.

"This type of technological solutions allow us to print and scan in a more sustainable manner. Beyond reducing our environmental footprint, the partnership also drives cost savings by enabling business continuity, and eliminating inefficiencies and unnecessary energy expenses," Hasin AlMalki, head of IT at Arab National Bank, said in the release.
