Aruba, a Hewlett-Packard Enterprise company, will provide the Gigabit Wi-Fi network for media and VIP attendees at the 2016 Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix taking place June 3-5, 2016 in Detroit, Michigan.

The event will feature the cars of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the trucks of the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks presented by TRAXXAS and the Trans Am Series as well as the IndyCar doubleheader, the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit, presented by Quicken Loans. The IndyCar races will include the No. 22 Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet driven by IndyCar driver, Simon Pagenaud and sponsored by HPE as part of the company'spartnership with Team Penske.

Using a mix of indoor and outdoorAruba 220 and 270 Series 802.11ac access pointsand Aruba AirWave for network management, the Grand Prix will offer Wi-Fi to approximately 500 media and 1,250 event VIP attendees. The Wi-Fi network will cover the Grand Prix's media facility which occupies two floors of a casino on Belle Island, and 25 premier seating chalets located along the straightaway. The two-story chalets enable trackside viewing on the lower level with a social gathering area on the upper level. The Aruba Wi-Fi network will provide event attendees in premier seating reliable, high-speed access to the Internet, email and social media and will allow media reporting on the event to file stories and upload photos and videos.
