Auhua Clean Energy partners with Purdue University to further enhance its solar thermal technologies

21 August 2014: Auhua Clean Energy Company Plc (AIM: ACE), the environmental technology group, announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Taiwan Ziolar Technology ("Taiwan Ziolar"), has entered into a joint development agreement with Lyles School of Civil Engineering, Purdue University, Indiana, US,to optimise Taiwan Ziolar's innovative solar thermal panel design

Purdue University will work with Taiwan Ziolar to enhance Auhua's existing solar thermal technologies by further developing its advanced composite material and proprietary coating technologies.  These innovations will aim to achieve breakthrough performance in a number of ways, including system efficiency, structural strength, safety, durability, building lighting, and thermal management, and advance the Building Integrated Solar Thermal (BIST) applications of the design. All technology developed under the joint development agreement will belong exclusively to Auhua.

David Sumner, Chairman of Auhua, added: "Our acquisition of Ziolar has helped Auhua build its international presence and expand overseas.  Property developers are constantly seeking solar technologies that integrate more seamlessly and aesthetically into building design from the outset.  This agreement, which focuses on exactly that, puts us in an even stronger position to continue to attract global partnerships with property developers.  We are committed to advancing our competitive advantage in thermal solar globally.  Partnering with one of the best regarded engineering schools in the world, Purdue University, helps us to achieve these goals."

Dr. Ming Qu, Associate Professor of Purdue University's Civil Engineering graduate programme, who leads the Taiwan Ziolar joint project, commented: "By using state-of-art software simulation and computerised building models, we are able to provide comprehensive analysis of global climates and geographic profiles to help optimise Taiwan Ziolar's BIST applications which can be applied throughout the world."

Dr. Steve Peng, CEO of Ziolar, said: "Collaboration with Purdue University will streamline our product development cycle, advance industry applications and raise our product offering to a whole new level."

Purdue University's Civil Engineering graduate programme is a world leader in building technology and energy efficiency research, and is ranked sixth in the US jointly with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), according to the U.S. News & World Report 2014.
