FRANKENTHAL (dpa-AFX) - The pump and valve manufacturer KSB is supplying 300 pumps with a total value of around 13 million euros to the BASF Group. The pumps are destined for the new BASF Verbund site in China, the company announced on Monday in Frankenthal, Palatinate. "We are proud to have received the largest order to date for centrifugal pumps from the chemical group BASF, worth 13 million euros," emphasized management spokesman Stephan Timmermann.

The first 19 units have been shipped since December 2023, he said. BASF confirmed the deal on request. The company is investing up to ten billion euros in the new Zhanjiang Verbund site in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong. It is to become the company's third-largest Verbund site worldwide after Ludwigshafen and Antwerp. Critics had warned that BASF was daring to make another risky investment after expensive write-downs in Russia./wo/DP/ngu
