Schrobenhausen - After the attack on the BAUER Group's IT infrastructure at the end of October, the group's business can continue to operate in most areas, even if there are restrictions in one place or another.

'Our construction sites in the specialist foundation engineering and resources segments continue to run, we can also deliver equipment and sales and materials management can also continue to work. In the last week we have converted many digital processes back to manual processes. Our solvency is also not affected by the attack,' said Peter Hingott, CEO of BAUER AG.

However, since there are individual areas of the company that are severely restricted, such as machine production and related teams, the response in these areas is to reduce hours and take early vacations. It is also planned to use short-time work for these areas where necessary.

The company's local servers were affected by the cyber attack. Applications in the cloud, such as virtual meetings or email traffic, continue to run without restriction. 'The security of email communication with the BAUER Group companies has not changed compared to the situation before the cyber attack. There is no increased risk,' emphasizes Peter Hingott.

Analyzes are still running at full speed. For this purpose, Bauer brought in a team of experts from the field of IT forensics. In addition, the company's own IT department is in the process of gradually checking the most important core systems and restarting them according to a list of priorities. This has already been achieved in individual important systems. A concrete statement as to when the internal network will be fully available again cannot yet be made. However, current analyzes show positive signals that this will succeed in the foreseeable future.

'It's a great achievement what we've achieved in the last two weeks. A special thank you goes to our IT colleagues, who are doing their best and trying to get us fully operational again as quickly as possible. We continue to ask our business partners for their understanding and patience if there are currently delays or problems in cooperation,' says Peter Hingott.
